Health & Wellness
Health and care services in and near Point Cook: medical centres, dental, allied health, pharmacies, aged care and hospitals, all labelled with their distance or location relationship.
This group covers the health services that residents use most often. The ABS records 581 health care and social assistance businesses across the four Point Cook SA2 areas at June 2025, and the directory lists the individual services that appear in official Victorian and community data.
| Group | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Medical Centres and General Practice | GP clinics and medical centres |
| Dental Practices | Dentists and dental clinics |
| Allied Health and Therapies | Physiotherapy, psychology, optometry, audiology, pathology collection and similar |
| Pharmacies | Pharmacies and chemists |

| Hospitals and Emergency Care | Hospital records and ambulance stations, with distances |
Two limits matter here. First, no open dataset records bulk billing, new-patient status, wheelchair access or appointment availability, so those claims are never made on a listing. Second, health premises data is split across sources: the Victorian Vicmap register covers hospitals, health facilities and aged care well but not private GP rooms, pharmacies, dentists or allied health, which come mainly from community mapping. Coverage is therefore uneven, and a missing service does not mean it does not exist.
For registration and credential checks, use the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) register.
